IS BROWN THE NEW CREAM?

Exploring the Rising Trend: The Enchanting Elegance of Brown Filters in Wedding Photography

In the ever-evolving world of wedding photography, trends come and go, each bringing its unique touch to capturing the magic of a couple's special day. At CMP we have stuck for the most part to "REAL" colours and that suited us well. Then the trend of light pink pastel came and I couldn't go that direction as it was to artificial to the actual colours of reality. . Now the airy look with soft contrast took over the last 5 years and that, I feel is a timeless look. Currently the trend is swaying to a cream or brown tone.

Embracing Warmth and Timelessness

Brown filters infuse wedding photographs with warmth and timelessness. The soft and earthy tones evoke feelings of nostalgia and comfort, creating a sense of intimacy that resonates deeply with the emotional essence of weddings. This trend is a shift towards a more muted, understated palette that complements various themes and aesthetics. From rustic barn weddings to contemporary urban celebrations, the brown filter adds a touch of enchanting elegance.

Harmonizing with Nature

For weddings that embrace nature as a backdrop, brown filters seamlessly integrate with the environment. Outdoor ceremonies, forest clearings, or sunset-lit landscapes take on a new dimension with these filters. Even the strong red wood on the Barn in the picture above is muted into a subtle softness.

The Art of Balance

As with any trend, balance is key. Brown filters, when applied thoughtfully. Not every picture will have this. However, this trend is now spreading amongst many professionals. The filter should enhance the emotions and atmosphere, not overshadow them. Choosing when to apply the filter is always a challange because I still like the look of the "real" colours but this trend is one I may implement frequently.
